Postponement FAQs

LAMP ’20 Postponement FAQs

Why is LAMP ‘20 postponed?
AALU/GAMA has been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as the state, local, and federal government recommendations. To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our participants, exhibitors, staff, and all those involved, we have decided it is the most responsible and prudent course of action to postpone the conference.

Will LAMP ‘20 be postponed until a later date or rescheduled?
We are exploring a number of different options to postpone LAMP or adding an additional meeting opportunity for LAMP participants. We will let you know as soon as a final decision has been made. We will also be offering a virtual learning opportunity during the week of LAMP, March 23-27. Participants should be on the lookout for more information.

What happens with my registration fee?
All current paid participants will receive a full credit in the amount that they paid for their registration fee at LAMP 2020, which can be used for a future GAMA/AALU meeting through 2021.

What if I sent an email about deferring my registration prior to receiving this email?
No action is needed. You will receive the full credit in the amount that you paid for your registration fee at LAMP 2020, which can be used for a future GAMA/AALU meeting through 2021.

How do I apply this credit?
An email will be sent in early April with instructions on how to use the credit and what upcoming meetings it can be applied to.

Will participants and exhibitors be refunded for hotel costs?
No. GAMA/AALU will not refund hotel costs. Participants and exhibitors must contact their hotel/lodging directly to cancel reservations. For anyone staying at the Gaylord Palms, you can cancel your reservation by calling this number, (407) 586-0000. Please note that reservations must be canceled at least 72 hours prior to your stay.

Will participants and exhibitors be refunded for airline tickets?
No. GAMA/AALU will not refund individual airline ticket costs. Please contact your airline directly regarding ticket cancellations.

Will exhibitors and sponsors be refunded?
LAMP ’20 exhibitors and sponsors will be contacted with further information regarding contracts if they have not already. Please contact, Ellen Devine, at devine@aalu.org if you have additional questions.

Will any sessions be made available virtually?
We are working on virtual LAMP programming that will be available during the week LAMP would have taken place in person, March 23-27. We will have more information about specific sessions and timing in the coming days. Stay tuned!

What about other upcoming GAMA/AALU meetings, will they be cancelled?
As of now, AALU’s TRANSFORM 2020 is proceeding as scheduled in Washington, D.C. on April 26-28. No decisions have been made with regard to other upcoming GAMA/AALU events. Looking forward, we will rely on the same criteria to assess the status of scheduled GAMA/AALU meetings and events. Please consult lamp2020.com and transform2020.aalu.org for the most up-to-date information or feel free to call us at (800) 345-2687.
